All-Purpose Chili Miso with Fragrant Sansho

By adding Japanese pepper (sansho)—which is not typically used in gochujang—this chili miso takes on a refreshing flavor reminiscent of Kyoto-style shichimi.

From the first bite, the tingling aroma of sansho perfectly balances the heat of the chili and the sweetness of white miso, leaving a clean, refreshing finish.

While it’s ideal for traditional dishes like grilled meats or bibimbap, the chunky texture also makes it perfect as a “savory miso” side for rice or a flavorful snack.

Keep in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. After opening, store in the refrigerator and consume promptly.

Gochujang (domestically produced), Onion, Vegetable oil, Reduced starch syrup, Ginger, Garlic, Chili pepper, Salt, Sugar, Sesame, Japanese pepper (Sansho) / Seasoning (amino acids, etc.), Antioxidant (Vitamin E).
