Aromatic domestically grown Japanese pepper (sansho) provides a bright, fruity fragrance, while the intensely spicy Chinese Sichuan pepper (hua jiao) delivers a sharp, numbing heat.

The Kyoto Red Ichimi is made exclusively from mild, flavorful domestically grown Honda chili peppers, balancing the heat for a refined spice.

This numbing-spicy seasoning, inspired by Kyoto-style Chinese flavors, combines double pepper and Honda chili for authentic Sichuan taste.

“Mala” refers to the signature flavor of Sichuan cuisine, featured in dishes like mapo tofu and dan dan noodles.

With just a spoonful, you can enjoy the numbing heat of Sichuan cooking at home, or use it to add a kick to your favorite Asian-inspired dishes.
